EVT 101/103

NR2B-selective NMDA Antagonists - Treatment Resistant Depression

EVT 101 and EVT 103 are orally active NR2B subtype selective NMDA-antagonists, which Evotec is developing in partnership with Roche (see press release 9th March 2009).

Evotec has completed a comprehensive Phase I programme with EVT 101. This included a brain imaging study (fMRI), which demonstrated that EVT 101 penetrated the brain at levels predicted to produce high levels of receptor occupancy and showed effects in relevant brain areas. In addition a 4-week dosing study in young and elderly subjects was conducted which demonstrated EVT 101 was safe and well tolerated. A Phase II Proof-of-Concept study in patients with treatment resistant depression is currently underway in the US (see press release 1st July 2010)

EVT 103, also part of the alliance with Roche, is a follow-on molecule to EVT 101. EVT 103 has successfully completed a single and multiple ascending dose Phase I study, and was shown to be safe and well tolerated (see press release 10thMarch 2010)
